The last Command
I woke up every Sunday morning at around 530 am. I did my daily morning rituals (bath, brush, scream, etc.). I opened my closet and fold my upper garment then stuff it into my bag. Then I iron my rock hard starched hanky ( Believe me you don’t want to be slappped with this). I put on my camo pants and polished boots(I’m proud of these boots because you can use them as mirror as they are really shiny). Then I grab my pants and sword before off I go to our humble HQ at UP Vanguard.
Usually, I always arrive ahead of the others. I put on my upper garment and sword(one of my prized stuff in college). I suit up making sure I look snappy when I face my cadets. Lastly, I wore my red beret, the symbol of my mighty batallion marked on its left corner. I then closed my eyes and pray that I’ll make it through the day with less punishments on my troops and hope they will learn something from me.
We were done with our uniform inspection. I ask our guidon bearer to go on ahead and form the company. As I see our red flag wave with each step its bearer made, It always give me a proud feeling of another good day in the training field.
This will be my last day as the Company Commander. I can’t believe that after two years of hard training, I’ll be leaving the first family I had in UP. I decided I need to pursue and concentrate on my academes. It was a hard but worthy. I was depressed but I just said to myself, this will not be the end but a start of a new life.
I then marched on. I drew my sword and called the attention of my troops. I smiled and cheered "We are the battery, we are the best…"
